Four Arms costume

It's this time of year again - when all the sewing moms in this part of the world are extremely busy. It caught me a bit by surprise that MiniMojcek Nr. 1 had to wear the costume on Friday (and not on Tuesday as I expected it) so it was a bit rushed... but nevertheless, a success!

He already has the casual Ben 10 T-shirt and Ben 10 jacket, but now it was time to transform into Four Arms:

I started with two red and one white long-sleeved T-shirts, a pillow, a pair of gloves and a large grayish button.

I was hoping to use the original Ben 10 T-shirt but I realised that Four Arms wears a slightly different one. Oh, well..

I cut several tapes of black fabric (yes, I always have a bit of black Jersey at home) and sewed them onto the T-shirt. A large button was used as Omnitrix and painted accordingly (and yes, I always have a bit of black paint for ceramics, glass, plastic ... at home).

The additional arms were made from sleeves and the gloves, stuffed with the pillow filling, and attached to the white T-shirt.

But the arms just hung there, so I connected them to the primary arms :-)

In order to be able to wear a parka over the four arms, the connection had to be removable, so I used a pair of tiny plastic carabiners. Here I was just adjusting the length.

The hood was made in a rush, just two pieces sewn together approximately in the shape of the head with a black ribbon and four yellow eyes.

And a pair of black joggers and MiniMojcek Nr.1 was happy. So was I.

If I had more time, I'd also make the proper shoes and gloves.
But I didn't.
Oh, well.

Ben 10 jacket

After I made the Ben 10 T-shirt, it was time to make the Ben 10 jacket.

Fortunately, I already had bright green fleece at home, unfortunately though I have already cut the fabrics before I got the "order" for the Ben 10 jacket. Therefore it has Raglan sleeves instead of standard ones. Oh, well. But the rest is exactly as it should be:

Bright green jacket with three white stipes. I used elastic bands and reversed them to hide the shiny side. I also added the front zipper.

(Almost) perfect ten!

And the final jacket with the Omnitrix-Ultimatrix watches.

No need to say that he is VERY happy!

Ben 10 T-shirt

It's been ages since I last used a paint brush. You know, a real paint brush!

MiniMojcek is very fond of Ben 10 cartoon (I personally am not that fond of it but that is a whole different story. I do believe, however, that parents should support their kids in whatever they love and unless it's something really stupid - which it isn't - I don't really have a choice.) So, Ben 10:

I already bought him cargo pants, he got Omnitrix (the watch) for his fourth birthday and all he needed was a T-shirt (he'll get retro-Adidas shoes on a different occasion). So I had to make one:

Do I need to say that he LOVES it?

On this occasion I also dug up an old t-shirt that I painted fifteen years ago. Fifteen! I'm officially old.
