A bamboo desk

MiniMojcek needed a new desk and of all the materials, he chose bamboo.

Not oak, not beech, not birch, not acacia, not even pine or spruce. Bamboo.

So we made him a bamboo desk. And it goes quite well with the other furniture in the room, so I'm happy.

But what matters most is that he's happy :-)

Craft table!

I have a new table! Just for me, for my crafts, for sewing, drawing, painting, creating ... whatever.

I first bought a solid beech kitchen worktop, painted it with three coats of wood stain (earthly brown, Nr. 68 from Belinka) and one coat of colourless varnish.

I added only two legs, the other two were replaced with two Ikea's 2x2 Expedits. However, my sewing machine would not fit into the shelves, so I altered them a little and added the required height on one side.

:-D

Table-shelf

Recently, my little one discovered Lego and fell in love. Everywhere I looked, there were legos in the living room, legos in the kitchen, legos in the bedroom... That's when I decided to make a shelf for his toys that would at the same time be a table where he could build cars and trucks.

I opted for a very simple one. Here you can see work in progress,

a detail,

and the final product:

He's happy. I'm happy :-)

PS. In loving memory of my Dad. He taught me (among millions of wonderful, useful or silly things) that one shouldn't be afraid of grabbing a drill. Even as a girl.
