Roman Holiday

My absence is excused:

MiniMojcek Nr. 1 and I took a few days off and went to Rome!

We saw everything on the beaten track. Which is enough for (his) first time in Rome.

The inscription in Vatican sums it up pretty well!

Frozen Chandeliers

In Queenstown, New Zealand, there is a poem on the quay wall running along the lake: Waipounamu: The Lakes District by David Eggleton. It's a wonderful poem and although way too long to remember it all, there are certain phrases that I often think of. Like "frozen chandeliers".

And today, everywhere I looked, I saw frozen chandeliers:

Beautiful and yet so so horrible...

Eye of the Tiger

As the title says - eye of the tiger:

Roar!

My best friend celebrated her n-th birthday and I needed a present. What could be more ...appropriate... than a leopard dress :-)

I think she liked it. We certainly did :-)

73 % successful!

As 2013 is coming to an end it's time to see how successful I was with my resolutions:

- move (100 % success),
- publish two books (47 % success),
- travel more (50 % success),
- sell a house (0 % success, complete fail!),
- finish reading Agatha Christie (100 % success),
- get a bit of my old self back (40 % success).

73 % in average.
Not too bad, right?

Candle making

This year I decided to make some candles.

I've never made them before but it looked easy - and so it was! Just melted paraffin wax, added stearin and colours and poured them into molds. I didn't use ordinary molds but Moroccan tea glasses, which are tremendously pretty :-)

I made orange ones in red and orange glasses:

And blue and green candles in blue and green glasses, respectively.

White Christmas!

Well, we have no snow but we still have a white Christmas!

And for the first time, we have a proper Christmas tree, with lights!

And of course home-made Christmas cookies!

Merry Christmas, everyone!
