2015!

2015 didn't start quite as I hoped. I fell ill on the New Year's Day with pneumonia and am still not quite well. And 2014 didn't end as I expected either. During my trip to Lisbon my lens (Nikon, 18-200 mm) broke. Literally, broke. When looking through the lens, I could see some loose wires. However, as this happened just before Christmas, MrMojcek didn't have much thinking to do about my present :-)
RIP, 18-200

And the plans for 2015?
- publish 3 papers (must do)
- travel 3 times (hope to)
- finish renovating and decorating 3 rooms (want to).

Will let you know in a year's time.

Tigggerrrr party

Maybe it's time we start behaving like responsible adults.

Maybe not.

So that we can still have tiger-themed birthday parties.

And cakes like this:

And birthday presents like this (thank you, He, M&P!)

I was most impressed by what MiniMojcek Nr.1 prepared for me, illustrating my wishes:

That's me in my Peugeot, leaving the house and driving to the airport, where the whole world waits for me.

Moons of Jupiter

I've been playing a bit with my new camera and wanted to see if I could get a decent photo of the Lovejoy comet. Well, I could get photos of the comet but no really decent ones ...

So Mr. Mojcek and I turned the camera to Jupiter. And it turns out, not only could I get a photo of Jupiter but also of its moons!

And I should add: hand-held camera :-)

I sort of understand how Galileo must have felt when he saw the moons for the first time...

Soft book for my nephew

I needed a Christmas present for my nephew and what could be more suitable than a home made soft book. I went into a haberdasher's shop and got all sorts of ribbons, buttons ... and used the fabrics I had at home. I never realised how many different ones I keep!

Spring

Summer
Autumn
Winter
I hope he likes it. And I hope it doesn't fall apart!

Christmas cards

Now that all the cards are on their way I can finally show them to you. Made of balsa wood ...

... and embellished with some glitter left-overs that MiniMojcek Nr 1 needed for a school project.

I hope the wood didn't break in the mail!

So now the mystery is solved.

Getting in the mood...

Toys toys toys

You know that feeling, when you see something and you just want to have it? Eventhough it's not really ment for you? Eventhough it's just a toy?

But of course it's not just a toy, it's a Lego Atlantis temple. And you buy it because you want it. I got it some years ago but recently the kids - knowing that it was mum's - asked me if they could build it. I agreed but the temple remains mine. Mine. Mine. Mine...

Some people just never really grow up, do we?
