Christmas cards

All the Christmas cards are on their way, so I'm revealing this year's mystery.

I'll start with one of the initial designs:

By pulling the first string, the pattern folds into two separate presents:

By pulling the second string ...

... the other paper piece folds into a decorated Christmas tree!

Pure Christmas magic :-)

Hmmm

Maybe I should stop using this paper for my to-do lists!

Because they truly seem endless :-/

Getting old

One day you're young - and the next day you have such a pile of papers to sign for the Ministry ...

Oh well...

Pretty packages

Sometimes we are asked to give money as present and .. well .. you can't give just a few notes in an envelope, right?

So for someone saving money for a camera, what could be more appropriate than a camera shutter card with money placed inside?

And yes, the shutter opens and closes :-)

For someone who was celebrating a diamond occasion, I hid the banknotes into an origami diamond. I even found some iridescent paper (transparent isn't quite the way to go)!

Star Wars costumes

I'm sure every Mum sooner or later has to make a Star Wars costume.

Well, I had to make two in two days.

You know where this is going, right?

Indeed, Yoda himself: a coat, two hands, two feet, a cap with ears, and the cane.

Here, Mr. Mojcek had to step in as I did not have enough time to make everything. A bit of cardboard, XPS, pur foam, a blue foil, paper mache, acrylic paint ... etc etc ...

The finished clone trooper!

Mission accomplished.

I'm ready

All the Christmas cards are already on its way, so I can finally show them. My first attempts at quilling.

Sorry for the poor quality of the photo. I rushed taking pictures before sending them.

This one is for the Goth in me :-)

And I'm Santa is ready for Christmas.

Winter :-)

The igloo in the front yard is finished.
Christmas wreath is hanging on the doors.
Christmas wheat is growing nicely.

And I'm finally making Christmas cards. Just a teaser for now:

Christmas cards

Now that all the cards are on their way I can finally show them to you. Made of balsa wood ...

... and embellished with some glitter left-overs that MiniMojcek Nr 1 needed for a school project.

I hope the wood didn't break in the mail!

So now the mystery is solved.

Christmas Cards 2013

Now that all the Christmas cards are on their way, I can finally write about them. This year I played with cut-outs and made multy-layered snowflakes. All the designs were based on photographs of real snowflakes!

The colours were my choice, of course, but I tried to keep them ... wintery.

I just wish there was some real snow!!!

Lego Advent calender

This year I decided to make advent calenders by myself. I even asked the kids what kind of calenders they wanted - sweets, toys, or activities.

They chose toys.
Of course.
But the old one added that he didn't choose activities because he would be getting those anyway :-)

So ... I bought two Lego sets, distributed the bricks into 24 packets (and cut the instructions accordingly) and now they're opening one packet at a time.

Surprisingly, they cheated only once so far :-)

Seeing hexagonal...

... but not revealing the Christmas-cards mystery just yet :-)

But I'm glad that 24 cards are finished so that I can finally clean the table and start working on something else.
