My eyes hurt!

Mr Mojcek has been looking for a light cycling vest for quite a while now. The problem being that XL in a Quintana/Roglič/Alaphilippe world is just not big enough for him.

So I made him one.

I've been looking at this bright, almost fluorescent yellow for the past couple of days now and my eyes hurt.

But the vest is nice, windproof and waterproof.

Hessian Tiger Vest

What do you do if a friend of yours is celebrating his birthday? Or at least you think he is...

You collect all the tiger scraps you can find in your house and make him a Hessian/burlap tiger vest.

What else, right?

Right?

Well, it turned out it wasn't his birthday at all. His birthday was in May. But he still loved the ... thought? The present.

Recently also MiniMojcek Nr.2 was celebrating his birthday and he wanted a "fruit cake with fruits and cake and cream and raspberries and mandarins and peaches and fruit and cake." So this is what he got!

And he got the truffles as well, although he didn't ask for them!

Cowboy costume

To continue the costume saga of MiniMojcek Nr.1: I told you already that when he saw MrMojcek dressed as Lucky Luke, he wanted to be one as well. We settled for a generic cowboy costume.

He borrowed MrMojcek's hat that we bought so many years ago in Sydney, I cut a piece of red fabric to make the bandana and I cut an old H&M T-shirt to make the vest. Of course he needed "pockets" for his pistols (to make a long story short: I am NOT buying him pistols so he makes his own from Duplo bricks. Oh, well. Boys will be boys.). I made a very simple fleece belt with holsters and spurs.




He adored the costume and almost ran to the kindergarden to show it to the others. But when he got home, he greeted me on the door with the words:" We will make a pirate hat and sword like MiniMojcekNr.2's-best-friend has."

Notice that
a) he used the word "we" and not "you" and
b) he said "make" and not "buy".
That's my boy!

But this does not change the fact that the costume saga is not over yet.

A vest for the boy

One of the projects started last week and finished this week was a vest for the boy. It's made of a very light green fleece. I avoided any zippers in the front in case he sleeps in the vest so I used snap buttons on the shoulder. First the fabric
