Summer trousers

I've had this colourful light fabric for quite a while now, but now was the right occasion to make a superlight superwide superflowy trousers. So I made them :-)

Away :-)

And I was away again.

To my favourite corner of the world.

And saying hello to an old friend of mine 

Holidays

More family holidays. 

Enjoying the summer, 

 

kayaking,

visiting some great adventure parks,

 

renting a cosy cottage,

 

hiking the bogs,

 

admiring the architecture,

and the history.

Latvia.

And a day trip to Lithuania. 

 I've still got over 3000 photos to sort!

Summer wreath

When I took down the Christmas wreath a while ago, I felt like there was something missing. A cosy welcome for all our visitors. So I made a summer wreath :-)

Away again

About a week after returning from Portugal, I was off again. 

To the South of France.

When can I start calling it my second home?

December?

Whoa, December caught me off guard!

But I am catching up as quickly as I can.

First was the Christmas wreath.

Admitted, more in tiger than standard Christmas colours, but hey, I never was standard :-)

Tiger jewellery

More tiger-inspired fashion: I made three necklaces for three birthdays.

I had so much fun making those :-)

Tiger dress

Another birthday party, another tiger dress.

 

Yes, yes, I know. Leopard robe.

With gold ribbons around the sleeves, neckline and the hem :-)

Sewing time

MiniMojcek Nr. 2 wants to learn how to sew. However, all the summer courses we found were full - and not quite what he wanted. He had no interest in sewing pillows or simple bags...

He wanted to sew shorts. With a pocket. With a zipper.

So he learned how to sew shorts with a pocket with a zipper in seam.

And the fabrics? His choice, of course.

Another blue dress

I said I was going to be ready this summer!

Another blue dress I made:

It looks way better with a "belt" in the picture, but I still think I will wear it without.

Tiger kimono

When your close friend celebrates his 50th birthday, he deserves a present. 

And since he's practicing karate for quite a while now, he'll be getting a tiger-kimono. 

 

With a corresponding belt. And yes, he's got a green belt, so a jungle belt it is.

 

And black velvet collar.

I did my best in pattern placing and pattern matching - it's not perfect, but not bad, methinks.

I hope he will like it. 

And use it.

At least once :-)

Christmas decoration

This year I also made some Christmas decoration: dried oranges in epoxy resin.

Oranges were grown in this garden:

and dried under the Provençal sun.

Actually it was Côte d'Azurian sun but this is doesn't sound as poetic as Provençal :-)

Anyway, working with the resin was quite messy, especially as i didn't have a rapidly dying one - this one took about 2-3 day so solidify.

And of course multiple layers were needed as the oranges floated...

We also made some glow-in-the-dark glittery letters for a Secret Santa.

The decoration is quite heavy, but pretty :-)

It brings a bit of Côte d'Azurian sun into your life :-)

Carnival

There are days when you - regarding the current situation - don't quite feel like partying and having fun.

But a leopard just cannot change its spots. Or rather, a parrot cannot change its feathers.

We are all made of stars

I know, I know - I should have planned this and gone somewhere where the lights don't shine.

But I was still able to photograph the Neowise comet both from my terrace and from ... somewhere... about a 15 min drive from my home.

The Milky Way (with Jupiter) was pretty too :-)

But, Earth, could you please next time stop rotating for about 30 seconds? It would make star photography so much easier :-)

Oh, and People, if you switched off all the lights, it would be easier as well!

A bit of hiking. And history.

Since my hand is still recovering from the injury, I cannot do much - but I can walk. So I did.

There were wonderful examples of Martagon Lilies (Turška lilija).

On the way back, we stopped in an old iron-smelting town.

They are organising an Escape-town, so we will definitely be back and try to Escape from there :-)

What not to do ...

Today MiniMojcek Nr. 2's school reopened. After 81 days!

So yesterday he needed to pack the school bag. And... let's just say we found some things that were left there forgotten for 81 days.

Including this orange.

I must add though, that it smelled really delicious. Very intense. Almost like a dried orange :-)

What to do Nr. 18

On your marks ... get set ... bake!

We've been eating quite delicious food for the past few weeks as we prepare everything by ourselves. Cooking, baking... at least two to three times a day.

What I always find amusing is how much alcohol I've got at home - for someone who never drinks any alcohol. I only keep it for cooking/baking :-)

 

My collection is larger (and prettier and fancier and more diverse) than MrMojcek's, who does occasionally drink :-)

The Teenies

There is no point in even trying to summarise a whole decade in a post.
Especially such an eventful and intense decade.
With lots of ups and downs and ups again :-)

Just looking at the pictures, my heart is filled with warmth and joy.
