More cakes!

Another weekend, another birthday party, so more delicious food.

It started on Friday already by celebrating the Candlemas with tons of pancakes.

And continued on Saturday with fondue, empanadas and more cakes.

To be more precise, one raspberry-white chocolate-almond tart and one tiramisu.

They were both super delicious but surprisingly, eating them together was even better :-)

And you can also notice the green paper napkins with wild boars. They were brought especially for this occasion from Chambord castle in the Loire Valley.

And there were candles! One cannot properly celebrate birthday without blowing out the birthday candles, right?

And yes, there were a lot of them. Oh well...

Happy 2019!

Happy 2019 and all the best to you all!

Ad 1) There were many twigs left from the history school projects, so I used them to make a wreath.

Ad 3 & 4) I've always been a fan of candles and I had these from the Escape Room we organised not so long ago. You can still see one of the clues on one of the candles :-)

Oh, and I finally managed to read the Hygge book.
Well - it's not worth reading at all.
300 pages to tell you to light more candles :-)

And telling you the obvious - that the best thing you can do is spend time with people you like, doing things you like, eating food you like and be comfortable. Or should I say ... hygge.

Candle making

This year I decided to make some candles.

I've never made them before but it looked easy - and so it was! Just melted paraffin wax, added stearin and colours and poured them into molds. I didn't use ordinary molds but Moroccan tea glasses, which are tremendously pretty :-)

I made orange ones in red and orange glasses:

And blue and green candles in blue and green glasses, respectively.
