Ladybird purses

Sooo, a new page is just turning in our lives as MiniMojcek Nr.2 is leaving kindergarden and going to school!

And I thought it would be appropriate to give a small thank-you present to his teachers, who have been with him all these years. And with MiniMojcek Nr.1 before that.

A ladybird!

MiniMojcek Nr.2 was in the group called Ladybirds so what could be more appropriate than ladybird purses/pouches... They loved them!

More pouches!

Remember two years ago, I made some fully lined zippered pouches based on this tutorial? This year I'm in charge of the end-of-the-year presents for MiniMojcek Nr.2's kindergarden teachers. Instead of buying something, I decided it would be much nicer to give them  home-made pouches. So ... here they are. First I had to find appropriate fabric and zippers:

Since there are two teachers, I got two fabrics:

Sewing them is actually fun!

And here they are. Each teacher will get a small and a large one: 

I hope they will like them as much as I do!

Zippered pouches

I started thinking about this year's Christmas cards and presents and I remembered I haven't written about the last year's. These are the ones I made for my cousins. They were literally sewn in the last minute: when the family was already having Christmas lunch, I was still at home making them. I managed to make two in time and the third one a bit later. Quite a bit later, actually.

They were all made from this wonderful fabrics by Anthology, following the wonderful tutorial, the same as another pouch I made last year.

A zippered boxed pouch

Let's just say I desperately needed some distractions from my life. So I dug up some old fabrics that remained from last years Christmas cards and decided to make a new toiletry bag - that I will need in the following weeks :-)

I found and followed this very illustrative tutorial.

I did use a stiffer interfacing (I used Vlieseline H 250) but otherwise I pretty much followed the instructions.


When I realised that photographing everything I make would at least double the time needed to make the pouch... I stopped doing it.


So here's the final product:



I love it. So much that I decided to make a few more. I already ordered the fabric :-)
