Half a year ago I wrote that "Everybody - and I mean everybody - should know how an exponential curve behaves. Period."

After over a year of living with Covid, people still don't know.

 

But I recently stumbled upon a comics that describes is way better that I could:

Tourmalet, again

Time for (virtually) climbing Col du Tourmalet again. 

No help from Mr Mojcek needed this time, and I did it in just under 2:18 :-)

The only help I had was from Paul Kalkbrenner. 

On repeat.

Virtual cycling

Since we are still not allowed to leave the municipality due to Covid restrictions, we continue to cycle virtually.

After climbing Col d'Eze from Nice a couple of times, today I climbed Mt. Ventoux from Bedoin.

My time? Well... 2:19:32.

November rain

It is a strange life we're living if the first proper November rain is the most exciting thing that has happened in quite a while...

In times like these...

 ... I could write a long post about all the things I am not doing. Limited to our municipality and leaving the house only if necessary, my life is just an eventless uninspiring continuum.

But the Christmas cards are all finished waiting to be written.

My book is in press.

The terrace fence is painted. 

We do get out occasionally, staying away from everyone. What could be more appropriate than the middle of the river.

What to do Nr. 23

As travelling is still very much limited (at least to the places I would visit), I have to be happy with what I've got. So, maybe it's time to re-discover my own country!

We started with Postojna Cave.

The train-ride was great, the cave is still fantastic, but the tour was on the boring side and rushed. Oh, well...

A fun fact: since a Cave is technically a closed space, we had to wear masks all the time

We obviously continued with Predjamski Grad. This one is even more spectacular than I remembered it.

A lovely day it was.

What to do Nr. 21

You can play the "Jeu des 7 erreurs en Gigapixel" by the Museum of Fine Arts in Lyon.

So much fun.

And I can't imagine how much fun the authors must have, placing funny little errors into the old paintings. My favourite is the Peugeot's lion on an medieval shield :-)

Maybe just a suggestion: a hundred errors next time?

The first batch

The first batch of jam was redcurrant only, the second was a mix of strawberries and redcurrant.Very delicious :-)

What not to do ...

Today MiniMojcek Nr. 2's school reopened. After 81 days!

So yesterday he needed to pack the school bag. And... let's just say we found some things that were left there forgotten for 81 days.

Including this orange.

I must add though, that it smelled really delicious. Very intense. Almost like a dried orange :-)

For the first day of the festival, Bilby is my absolute favourite (animated short) film (link was no longer working so I removed it).

Such a feel-good story about friendship, it just melts your heart.

More beauty

Since more or less the only journey I can take is the journey to my garden - this is what I am doing.

PS. Day 70, btw.

Fact.

I am my father's daughter.

I am just not quite sure whether this is a good or a bad thing...

But I was buying nautical plywood and epoxy resin today :-D

Something pretty

This year, we've got something new in our garden: peonies!

These were actually my (lovely) neighbour's, growing in his fairy garden. Before the whole house was demolished and garden ruined, a co-worker and I went on a rescue mission and took as many plants as possible.

I see this as their way of expressing gratitude.
